Wasserman are delighted to announce the signing of top amateur English player Sophie Lamb. Lamb has had an impressive amateur career and is to turn professional at this week’s Hero Women’s Indian Open. She will be represented at Wasserman by Brendan Taylor, Executive Vice President and Head of Golf EMEA.

The 21- year- old from Lancashire has enjoyed a successful amateur career most recently representing England at the World Amateur Golf Championships and Great Britain & Ireland at the recent 2018 Curtis Cup. Other notable amateur achievements include winning the 2016 British Ladies Strokeplay and part of the 2017 England Team that won the European Ladies Championships.

Sophie had a taste of Ladies professional golf after winning the Smyth Salver at the Ricoh Women’s British Open in 2017 at Kingsbarn’s as the leading amateur and going on to finish in tied 30th in the tournament, this followed with invites to the Ladies European Tour Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.

“I have been very grateful for the support England have given me in my amateur career, they have set me up on a good pathway, winning the Smyth Salver was a highlight for me and I am looking forward to the future as a professional now,” said Lamb. “I’m really excited to be joining Wasserman, my family have known Brendan personally for many years and it’s great now to be under his management team.”

Lamb continued: “It will be good to go to India, to play against other Ladies European Tour players; it is what I want to be doing next year on a regular basis, so it’s good for me to keep gaining experience in the lead up to Q School, I am very thankful for the invite from Hero.”

Lamb has also signed partnerships with Senator, Bowskill Clinic, Blackburn Chemicals, Ping and Adidas ahead of her debut professional season.

“I used to play junior golf with Sophie’s father, so it’s exciting now to welcome Sophie into the Wasserman family,” said Wasserman’s Taylor. “She is a really talented player and showed that against the very best in the world at the Ricoh Women’s British Open in 2017. Women’s sport is a top priority at Wasserman and we are delighted to have Sophie within our European Golf Division”.

Following The Hero Women’s Indian Open, Sophie Lamb will set her sights on the Ladies European Tour Q School in December.
