Blue Marlin London begins 2013 with new leadership

Blue Marlin is proud to announce New Year additions to the management team. Marshall Ward has taken the helm as Managing Director of the integrated brand design agency’s London office, with Ian Kelly coming aboard as Client Service Director.

Ward comes to London directly from an outstanding run as Managing Director of Blue Marlin Sydney, in which he guided the Australian studio to creative and commercial success while also playing an integral role in setting up the agency’s Singapore studio. He brings with him 18 years of experience in marketing, branding, design and advertising, and has worked with some of the world’s biggest brands, such as Coca Cola, Kleenex and Nescafé. Prior to Blue Marlin, he held the role of Client Service Director at Cowan Design Sydney.

Ward replaces Phil Langford, who re-joins Blue Marlin’s global team as Group Executive Strategy Director, a role that support all the networks  key clients and new business efforts.

Kelly joins Blue Marlin London with a strong background of 20 years in the design industry, including a recent 7-year stint as Business Development Director at Holmes & Marchant. He has experience working with several well-established brands such as Nike, Guinness, Absolut and Burger King.

As Client Service Director, he will ensure that our accounts team deliver the utmost in brand consultancy and design for our clients.

Blue Marlin co-founder and CEO Andrew Eyles commented on the dual appointment: “Marshall’s work in Sydney was so impressive that our decision to bring him more than 10,000 miles wasn’t a difficult one. He provides valuable leadership qualities and business development skills as well as plenty of appreciation of Blue Marlin’s culture.” Eyles continued, “We’re also fortunate to bring in a great industry talent, Ian Kelly, to manage our London client team. His vast experience on both agency and client side is a great asset. 2013 is going to be a very important and exciting year for the company and our London studio looks to be in very safe hands to handle it.”
