As one of the largest international accountancy networks, BDO identified that its brand and online presence were key in supporting its worldwide users. Following an initial Nomensa accessibility audit, BDO commissioned Nomensa to redesign its website and integrate it into Nomensa’s accessible Content Management System (CMS), Defacto 2.0 which could be easily used by the BDO web team to update the site.
Brief: Nomensa conducted stakeholder workshops to gain an in-depth understanding of BDO’s clients before developing a series of wireframes. This ensured the new website designs were perfectly matched to BDO’s clients and new user’s requirements. Nomensa continued to work closely with BDO throughout the design phase of the project to refine the wireframes, ensuring the website was both visually attractive and engaging and providing appropriate functionality and an intuitive information architecture (structure). This in turn enhanced BDO’s service information delivery whilst providing a highly usable website allowing users to efficiently achieve their online goals. Following the successful completion of wireframe’s and visual design, a range of level AAA standard of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) website templates were created to consistently maintain the highest standard of user experience. Nomensa’s fully accessible CMS, Defacto 2.0 was selected to host the redesigned site, providing the BDO team with a platform to easily maintain and update web content. Bespoke training was also provided to ensure BDO content editors were fully proficient in updating and uploading content into the new website.
Response: BDO’s fully accessible new website is not only significantly more visually engaging but also boasts an intuitive information architecture, providing a better user experience. BDO’s website users are now able to enjoy a faster user experience due to the quicker downloading of web pages. In addition to this, the accessible user-centric designs ensured greater search engine visibility which increased BDO’s online presence. Following the successful launch of the new website, BDO continue to work closely with Nomensato ensure their site is maintained to the highest level of quality and any new developments fully support their business goals and further enhance their online user experience.
