Market research agency SPA Future Thinking has made five new appointments to develop and strengthen its senior team.
Shelley Watson joins SPA Future Thinking’s shopper team as research director from Kimberly-Clark, where she was shopper insight manager. Watson brings strong retail and FMCG experience coupled with a hands-on focus for driving results through insight to the team. She will work alongside SPA Future Thinking’s shopper research director Jamie Rayner.
Will Ullstein, former research director at Munro, takes on the role of group business development director, with responsibility for leading SPA Future Thinking’s business development across all areas of the company. He will maintain the company’s strong position in the areas it currently operates, as well as seeking out new growth areas. Will’s background is as a researcher practitioner, having spent nine years at FDS, and then Munro Global.
The agency has also boosted its operational team with the appointments of Michaela Williams, Sheena McLullich and David Griffith.
Williams joins as head of field operations, overseeing all data gathering methods and processing functions across the company including field, coding, DP, CATI and logistics. She has more than 18 years working in the market research industry primarily in senior operational roles covering consumer, business and healthcare sectors for global marketing insights organisations GfK and Kantar Health.
SPA Future Thinking’s new director of people, McLullich, has held senior level HR roles for several SME organisations in a wide range of industry sectors. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and a member of the US Society for Human Resource Management, she joins from online publishing firm Complinet, where she was group HR director.
Finally, Griffith joins as CFO and is appointed to the holding board. He has more than 20 years’ senior financial experience and commercial experience gained at organisations including Conder Environmental plc, Astucia (UK) Limited and Wick Hill Group.

Creative industry veterans Ivan Pols (ex-adam&eveDDB), and Alex Mecklenburg (ex-Ogilvy) have joined forces to launch Truth & Spectacle, a creative business consultancy which aims to reframe how companies think about their corporate truth while also freeing them from existing agency processes to enable them to reinvent their creative efforts.
