Coinciding with a busy Summer of international football, and to help generate interest in a Football Association competition to win England season tickets, Disturb Media produced 'Footylikes' in partnership with their agency client, Dare.
Using the face.com API, the mini-site analyses users' photos to match them with the England players who they most look like.
With a database of past and present players from both the England men's and women's teams, the resulting 'Footylikes' are fun, sometimes surprising and hard not to share.
Greg Danford, MD of Disturb Media said: "The England Footylikes project typifies the kind of project that Disturb Media love to be involved with - it's fun, shareable, and demanded a robust build that's easy to navigate.
An HTML5 build that enables users to access images direct from their Facebook account means that we were able to reach as many people as possible in a most efficient way.
The face recognition element is certainly impressive, although I was slightly disappointed to be matched with Peter Reid rather than David Beckham ;)
Both ourselves and our client partners are in the business of improving brands' relationships with their customers by spreading engaging messaging through social networks - and this is a great example of exactly that."
