Bold & Noble’s limited edition foiled London type maps

Bold and Noble, a Hertfordshire based company who specialise in 100% recycled hand-pulled screen printed designs, have selected Celloglas’s foil blocking finish to create three very special numbered, limited edition versions of their London type map design, just in time for the Olympic games.

The design features a map of London represented by street names which have then been foiled in the colours of gold, silver and bronze, each selling at £120, with only 200 of each colour available.

The foil was applied to white 250gsm recycled sheets of 70cm by 50cm sized paper as part of the CelloFoil foil blocking service at the Celloglas Leicester factory, using a Johannisberg hot foil cylinder. To achieve the design, a B2 brass die-cut first had to be produced and then colour variants of the foil were chosen to match the company’s Olympic theme ideas. All foils were selected from the Cellofoil swatch; CS matt gold, CS matt silver and CS brass.

Steve Middleton, Sales Manager for Celloglas commented, “It was great to work closely with the Creative Directors at Bold and Noble, the design really lends itself to foiling and finished result is just stunning.”

The designs have already had a great response within the social media community, with people commenting on Twitter that the design “really is very nice” and that they especially “love the bronze one.”

Sarah McLaughlin, Studio Manager at Bold and Noble said “Everyone at Celloglas was extremely helpful in explaining what we could achieve with our design, we are really happy with the result”.

Richard Gillgrass, Managing Director at Celloglas, added, “This has been a successful opportunity to show how print finish techniques can bring a different feel to any design and we are looking forward to working with Bold and Noble in the future.”
