Story is looking for a talented and experienced digital project director with nine years industry experience to manage a team of three project managers. You will report into the Head of Project Management and your roles and responsibilities will cover the following. You will have a good understanding of the technologies required to develop and launch content through digital media and film, as well as a good basic understanding of print processes.


• Member of the Senior Management Team making decisions to develop overall performance of Story
• Develop and clearly articulate project management vision and role in driving overall business success
• Develop and innovate new services / processes while considering wider business implications
• Making a significant contribution and take a leadership role among the project management team and in Story
• Sharing knowledge with the team & helping others in the team to deliver on objectives


• Regular client liaison through weekly calls and reports
• Prepare comprehensive Statement of Work documents for any projects with a value over £10k
• Prepare risk assessment documentation to support any projects with a value over £10k
• Prepare MS project plan to support any projects with a value over £10k
• Knowledge of all the main digital and print processes and procedures
• Proactively develop an understanding of new technologies and the process involved in delivering them
• Comprehensive understanding of The Logical Sequence and compliance in fulfilling
• Comprehensive understanding and fulfilment of ERP system 'KITT'
• Accurate resource planning based on project plans and budget, balanced with capacity
• Ensure contracts, NDAs, and any other paperwork as required is completed, signed and stored safely
• Ensure agenda and contact reports prepared for meetings where no CS team member is present
• Show flexibility in management of projects
• Monitor profitability and look for ways to achieve it
• Working with client services team to ensure client retention achieved through delivery on brief
• Involvement of department heads at quotation, QA and sign-off stages
• Attention to detail


• Create accurate cost estimates with input from department heads or key team members
• Ensure budgets are reviewed by GAD, CSD and FD where required
• Monitor, analyse and feedback timesheet data on all projects
• Manage cost budget effectively
• Handle and communicate change requests/scope creep clearly to client services team and client
• Raise draft invoices through KITT
• Ensure all budgets are up-to-date in ERP system 'KITT' -estimate, purchase orders, direct costs and sales budget
• Input key milestones for billing
• Raise draft invoices through KITT
• Inform forecasting through CS team process


• Create an environment for regular knowledge building and professional development
• Understand and analyse resource capacity vs ROI
• Competitive knowledge and analytic skills to develop effective new business propositions


• Excellent understanding of multi-channel communication disciplines and integrated marketing
• Work with all teams to develop appropriate response to client requirements
• Clear and regular communication with team delivering project -includes briefing, budgeted time allocations, reviews
• Understanding and ability to interpret briefs in any media
• Use insights from research, data and macro trends in developing response to client brief
• Ensure IQ test and QA plan are referred to and monitored


• Responsible for management and development of team members
• Act as project lead in multi-disciplinary team (editorial, design, production etc)
• Ability to argue point of view coherently and concisely and provide clear & constructive feedback
• First class presentation and pitch skills at senior management and/or board level
• First class team management skills and ability to drive through change
• Is motivating and inspiring to others, brings out best in others and is a positive role model
• Has opinions and points of views that are widely respected
• Can manage conflict effectively both internally and with the client
